Our CNC Press Braking Solution
This applies to our press braking facilities as much as it does to our design and finishing expertise.
Clients can come to us with a fully detailed plan and we’ll make it a reality, but our designers can also project manage from an initial sketch or reverse engineer from an existing component.
We’ve been delivering like this for more than 70 years and we take pride in combining old-fashioned engineering expertise with the latest technology and a commitment to the highest levels of customer service. We’re equally at home creating designer, hand finished items of bespoke metalwork as we are delivering tooling or large scale batches of components for use in defence and aerospace projects.
The CNC press braking which we offer is also known as Computer Numerical Control press braking. It’s a manufacturing process which combines force with precision to work metal sheets and plates into strictly defined items created to extremely tight tolerances. As well offering as the CNC press braking itself, our in-house expertise means that we can work as partners with our clients, helping them to design and create the item they need no matter what stage of development it has reached when they come to us.
This process begins with our designers working with a client to create a 3D CAD (Computer Aided Design), working from their own initial designs, rough sketches or an existing component. We use state of the art Solid Edge software to create this design and can then produce a prototype – making use of our other processes if needed – to test the concept in practice and eliminate problems before committing to the time and cost of manufacture.

How We Can Help
Once we’ve created a CAD which the client is completely happy with the information on that design is extracted by computer-aided manufacturing software, and that data is then used to control the press brake. The CNC press brake facilities at Pegrex include a 50-tonne x 2m press brake, which is big enough to deliver large orders and accurate enough to create fine-tuned one-off bespoke items.
Many of our clients have been working with us for years because they know that we can combine CNC press braking with the other services we offer – such as CNC turning and hand finishing – in order to create a bespoke plan which mixes and matches wide-ranging areas of expertise to deliver tailored solutions.
